Despite the rain and blustery winds, the annual membership meeting of Watersmeet Lakeguards, also known as Invasive Species Control Coalition of Watersmeet (ISCCW), was held as scheduled on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the outdoor pavilion in Watersmeet. Thirty-four hardy members were in attendance and forty-four members were represented by proxy. Watersmeet Lakeguards president Will Buergey opened the meeting with a summary of the past year’s activities. Items of business included ratification of the director-approved 2009/2010 Operating Plan and Budget, 2010 dues schedule, as well as reports from the Membership, Education, and Finance Committees. Jim Okraszewski, Dudley Pierce, Bill Rehling, Jonathan Swindle and Bob Turnquist were elected as new directors and Ruth Bozdech, Dean Challed, Fred Duerkop and Steve Wilkinson were reelected, all for two year terms. They join incumbent directors Will Buergey, Arny Domanus, Dave Gunderson, Joe LoMastro, Ken Wendt and Bob Zelinski. The 15 member board elected the following officers: Will Buergey (President), Dudley Pierce (Vice President), Steve Wilkinson (Treasurer) and Ruth Bozdech (Secretary).
